I am passionate about many things in life, painting and photography being two of my main passions. The type of art that speaks to me is considered contemporary or modern and this style best reflects my own paintings. I am an intuitive artist, never planning ahead but always painting in the moment. This allows me to be free from expectations, letting go of all boundaries, taking risks, and pushing myself to unexpected places and surprises! The process is as important to me as the resolved work of art. Colour, spatial composition, and textures inspire me. My surfaces consist of many layers which include, paint, plaster, mark making, rubbing, adding and taking away until it “feels” complete. As an artist / photographer I occasionally transfer my images into my paintings, marrying painting and photography, a sort of love affair!  The creative and technical process of photography challenges me. Panning and creating motion with modification allows me to create modern, clean lined images that resemble fast lines.  For me, vintage cars and contemporary urban landscapes play particularly well with this technique. I also enjoy exploration, new places, new concepts, fresh faces, and adventure! Having travelled extensively I have been able to capture numerous stunning and thought provoking images that have become the focal aspect of many of my paintings. Kelowna is full of rich culture, world renowned wineries, breathtaking views, and lifestyle amenities. It’s one the greatest places on earth! I am privileged as an artist to have my art all over North America and Europe in the homes of people who have fallen in love with a particular piece or pieces of art.
